As the school year comes to an end, the seniors at Wayne Christian are getting ready to move on to the next chapter of their lives. Seniors Garrett Brown and Abigail Tober are both a part of this graduating class and are finishing their final year with memories and experiences they will carry with them.
When asked about what they enjoyed most about their senior year, Garrett shared a short but reasonable answer: “Getting out early.” Abbey said one thing that she has really enjoyed is seeing how much her classmates have grown and watching all of the things God is doing in their lives as they prepare for the future. Their answers show that every senior experiences their final year differently, yet each moment becomes part of the memories they will keep.
After graduation, both seniors already have plans for their futures. Garrett plans to go into farming in La Grange, while Abbey will continue working toward her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry on the Pre-Med track at Campbell University this fall. Both students are preparing for very different careers, but they are ready to take the next steps in life after high school.
Abbey gave very encouraging advice to upcoming seniors, telling students to place everything in God’s hands, including worries, frustrations, wishes, and praises. She said trusting in God fully has been life-changing for her and encouraged students to give God the glory in all things. Abbey also advised upcoming seniors to truly apply themselves and take advantage of every opportunity they’re given.
Looking back on their time at Wayne Christian, both seniors reflected on how the school has impacted them personally. Garrett said his experience has made him a better person and a better Christian. Abbey shared that moving to Wayne Christian in sixth grade helped her come out of her shell and put Christ first with her classmates. She also said she is thankful for the lessons, relationships, spiritual guidance, and opportunities she received during her time at this school.
Overall, seniors Garrett and Abbey are wrapping up their time at Wayne Christian with friendships, memories, and important life lessons. As they graduate and move on to new opportunities, they leave behind a good example of growth, faith, and determination.
