Riley Sutton is one of the captains of the girls’ JV volleyball team. She was previously the captain of middle school volleyball. She volunteers to keep a book for most middle school volleyball games. Riley said, “I enjoy helping because I get to share my knowledge and tips to the younger players.”
She’s been playing volleyball for four years since 6th grade. She stated, “I don’t plan on playing after high school because I want to focus on softball.” This year she plays all around, and in the past she has been a setter and a back row. She said her favorite position is all around because she gets to play everywhere.
Every week, she practices for two hours a day except for Wednesdays, which adds up to around 8 hours of practice a week. So far this year, the team has won four games and beat their rival team.
She told us about a few traditions she has after games. After every game, she gets Zaxby’s, “Specifically a number three with fries, and extra Zax sauce.” Before games, she always eats a pouch of cinnamon apple sauce. Thank you Riley for your time!
