Because we live in a fallen world, tragedy is unavoidable. This weekend, Hurricane Helene swept through the Southeast and took countless lives. Cities were reduced to debris and people were cut off from necessities such as power, water, and food. But when tragedy strikes, our faith in God becomes stronger.
Isaiah 41:40 says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” When in doubt, pray. God is with you in times of need. He will guide you through times of suffering and uncertainty.
Think of a lighthouse. The lighthouse helps ships navigate and guides them through troubling weather. Do not worry about what is ahead. Storms will pass, but God is always there.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” – Isaiah 43:2
