Gameday is truly the best day of the week.
On Friday, September 13, the Eagles welcomed Lawrence Academy and promptly defeated them 28-14. Not a great welcoming. It was a solid game for the Eagles all around; Jeremiah Bouknight, Drake Lane, Travis Lach, and Jonathan Jackson all contributed a touchdown (two of which were thrown by Sal Benkovics).
Late into the fourth quarter, the skies were dark, the rain was starting to fall, and the Warriors were down 28-8. It almost felt like a set-up for a dramatic comeback for Lawrence Academy. Almost.
The Warriors scored a touchdown in the final seconds of the game. It could’ve been a resounding game-winner for Lawrence…if they weren’t down 14 points. Too little too late. Eagles win, baby.
