In the second game of the Varsity Football season, the Eagles pick up a quality win against Faith Christian, winning 42-26.
After taking a loss in the first game of the season, the Eagles swiftly regrouped and soared against Faith Christian on Friday, September 6. Interestingly enough, it was a purely grounded game… no passes were thrown at all on the WCS side of things! Turns out, rushing was all they needed. Six touchdowns were recorded, four of which came from Brandon Benkovics (for a total of 286 yards!)
It was a competitive match as both teams entered halftime tied, 20-20. After the break, however, the Eagles kicked it into overdrive and surged past the Patriots, eventually prevailing 42-26.
The Varsity Football team will look to maintain this explosive momentum as they prepare to host Lawrence Academy on Friday, September 13. Meanwhile, Faith Christian will most likely hope to shake off this loss. You mess with the eagle, you get the talons…
